Fortaleza, Ceara, Brasil 2 July, 2011

…ya acabo llegar en Fortaleza por la madrugada de Buenos Aires vía San Pablo (…I’ve already arrived to Fortaleza this morning from Buenos Aires via Sâo Paulo). It’s already starting, I can feel it in my bones. This is going to be such an amazing trip along the coast of Brasil, with a new skill, speaking Spanish with a new freedom. I am not going back to Sydney, the place I once called home…and now I’m not sure where home is.

In Sâo Paulo it began. From directions in the airport to a kid asking me if I was in a line or not. I already understood a good 30% or so of what was going on. Obrigado Espanhol! (thanks Spanish!) I even had my first conversation with a taxi driver as I spoke Spanish and he spoke Portuguese, I love it, it’s such a great feeling!

So my hostel wasn’t attended.

(Unfortunately nobody was there when I arrived, so the taxi driver helped me find another place in the same street. How lucky that we found a bed and breakfast or boarding house, so ugly and cute at the same time. The style of my room is something out of a Caribbean movie 🙂 , the flowers and vibrant colours. I still have to do some university work in the morning, so we will chat in that moment…)
