On the Mekong again, Vietnam – 28 June 2007

We are now three hours from the Cambodian border on a slow wooden boat. This morning we were up bright and early to an average breakfast where my friend found a small bug in his bread. YUM! We were also told that we would be on the ‘slow boat’ and if we wished to catch a ‘fast boat’ it would be an extra $20 US Dollars each, ouch!

Following all that fun, we took a canoe ride around a floating village and had a look at a Fish Farm. The Fish Farm was located under the floating house and was filled with Snapper. Next we took a ride over to a small village called Cham. This village is home to an Islamic minority and had a small mosque. There was definitely a sense of being in another tourist trap and we payed too much for a few scarves, but oh well. One little girl couldn’t stop harassing me to buy some waffle biscuit things from her. I played along with the whole not buying any for a little while. Once we were about to leave, I gave her some money and that was that. Now we have a long journey ahead, but in late afternoon we will finally arrive to Phnom Penh…

Look at me, so little!

The World is an amazing place filled with adventure, awe and excitement. As a child I dreamt that I would see every country, every crevice of the globe. And now? Now I continue to fulfil that dream...I would like to share that journey with you in some small part...
