In the closing hours of 2013

I end 2013 sitting here on the Great Wall of China. As it approaches 11am the warmth of the sun has thawed my dry skin and I sit here on ancient masonry work thinking about life and simple things as one does in these moments. 2014 is going to be a spectacular year and I thank 2013 for its blessings and few grand challenges.

China is impressive. It is hard to imagine that the future of our planet will be so greatly determined by a culture so foreign to my own. As I sit here a wall guard is listening to the radio. Chinese music plays and floats onto the wind that glides across the expansive ranges that surround us. It is a magical place and a perfect moment to pull out my favourite spanish word at moments like this…

ALUCINANTE…

I have walked briskly ahead from the group to avoid the self appointed local village guides, I wanted this walk to be solitary. Now I see them catching up below. I better keep moving 🙂

The World is an amazing place filled with adventure, awe and excitement. As a child I dreamt that I would see every country, every crevice of the globe. And now? Now I continue to fulfil that dream...I would like to share that journey with you in some small part...
